• Hello everyone,

I currently run the site https://www.MinecraftCatalogue.com and was hoping to get some help from the community on some trivial questions I have.

I use wordpress version 3.5.1 and update as often as possible. I am rather new to the world of website creation and so I call upon you, the more experienced people, to come to my aid. My site is run from hostgator and my domain is registered at GoDaddy. (Any more info needed I am happy to provide for you)

I would like to create a function where people can submit their ‘minecraft server’ to the website so that they can get some more players. What I am stuck on is which plugin I can use to create this mechanism where a form is filled out and then through this the details of their server form a list. Each server ends up on this list and it is easy for people to look through multiple servers to find a suitable on for them. If this is not clear here is almost exactly the type of site I am looking to create: MCserverlist.

I would appreciate it if the plugin was free or cheap, although this might be too much to ask.

Thank you for your time. Any information would be greatly valued and would absolutely brighten my day.

    Regards,
    Janne

  • Hello Janne,

I came across this thread because of an whole other reason but I thought I would take my time to help you out as good I can because I feel I got some knowledge on the subject. The easiest thing to do is probably use a contact form plugin to handle it through. However, this has one huge downside as you will have to add all new servers manually.

To avoid this slight problem I suggest you going for a plugin which allows anyone to create new posts on your blog. And then edit it so people can input their server ip, port, description etc instead of what was previously there.

You should keep in mind that MinePick, MCserverlist etc are all custom made I think. And I don’t think they are based on WordPress at all. So yeah, it wouldn’t be the easiest thing to build something like that only based on existing WordPress plugins imo.. and not really worth it either. But goodluck to you Janne! ??

Hope I helped you in some way.
