Good alternative for Yoast

I’ve been using Ultimate and Yoast alternately on various sites. Both have their pros and cons. Here’s a smattering of a review:
Ultimate is great when you want a tight package to do specific things. Yoast is great if you’re new to SEO and need some training.
Having said that, Ultimate is not so great if you don’t have at least some SEO/SEM training. Yoast is a pig if you have training. I use SEMRush for fine tuning – and trim up my linking and OG with Ultimate. Kinda expensive tools to have laying around (SEMRush) but that’s the nature of the beast (IMHO).
Again – Yoast isn’t bad. It’s just clunky. Really hate those lights. And I’m kinda tired of the constant reminders to upgrade – you don’t get that with Ultimate. One downside for Ultimate is that they’ve stopped supporting the free version of the plugin. They want you to purchase a license to get support. Which is okay – I get it. Free is not a sustainable business model. But free also helps people compare platforms. It’s the years that I’ve spent working with both plugins that have given me great insight into two valuable tools.
Tip: I only have 6 of Ultimate’s modules turned on at any given time – which is optimal for an average hosting service. More than that, tends to slow the site down. That’s where the training comes into play – eventually you learn that “everything, all the time” is not necessarily a good SEO/SEM strategy.
