Good but not very reliable data

  • The review is to the service itself not the WordPress plugin. Overall the SumoMe team did a good job with the design and UX of the widget functions.

    After I tried the service for about 1 month here’s what I found:

    1. The pop-ups work ok but they didn’t increase my email sign-up at all. My website has around 2k visitors/month. Maybe providing an incentive like a ebook download would be better. It’s not really their fault but “Double your Email Subscribers” is a big claim.

    2. The heat map is not reliable. It showed the clicks on my home page for a while but now it’s stuck at 103 clicks and they all show in one area. The other pages still show clicks. Beside I’m not sure how much is getting tracked as I’m pretty sure there should be more clicks then that. I’ll try Clicktale and compare.

    3. The content analytics seems to work on a blog post but on the page is buggy and shows the heat map in the footer.
