• I liked this plugin and how easy it was to customize the website using it; however, it slows down my entire website and causes it to crash from time to time. For now I will leave it deactivated, but I will consider activating it again if this problem is fixed.

  • Hey @nnootbaar54,
Can you tell me a little about your server? And what errors your getting?

It’s possible you just need to increase the php settings, if you let me know what your set up is like that would help a lot to trouble shoot your issue.

Thank you for responding so quickly,
GoDaddy is my server, and I actually called them first to see if anything was wrong on their end and they said everything looked fine. So I started an error log on GoDaddy and deactivated all of the plugins on my website and activated them one by one, slowly, to see if it was a plugin slowing down my website. It turned out that things slowed down after reactivating the Virtue/Pinnacle Toolkit. I am currently using the Virtue theme, and WordPress version 4.3.1. The website is nakedheads.org. I currently have the toolkit deactivated.

Also my error log shows up with this:
    [Fri Sep 25 11:43:53 2015] [11954736] [fcgid:warn] (9)Bad file descriptor: [client 62.149.143.157:41356] mod_fcgid: ap_pass_brigade failed in handle_request_ipc function

And I am not a programmer, so I have no idea what this even means. For all I know, it could be another problem entirely.

    Hey,
Was your front end slowing down or your backend? I’m not experiencing or have anyone else reporting this so it’s hard to know how to start.

I can tell you this though, your font end would be so so so much faster if you optimized your images. Especially this one: https://nakedheads.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/About.png

It’s 7.3mb all be itself and you really want to have a page that is below 2mb in size.

    see here: https://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/bmqfGb/https://nakedheads.org/
Page load time is 3.5 in us.

It was both the back end and front end.
I will try to optimize my images. Although it was much much slower before and prone to crashing so I don’t think that is the problem.

ok, prone to crashing? Well my guess would be you need to increase the max php memory in your php settings for the site. I suggest contacting the host and asking about increasing that and seeing if you see a difference.

by the way the error above has nothing to do with this plugin or the theme. But based on it I recommend you run a repair and optimize in your database.
