Good for speed but what happens to my sitemaps?

I’ve been using this for some time now and it really help with the speed. It’s a try/error process but when it works, it works well.
I noticed though that my some of my sitemaps have illegals characters at the end in the W3 Total Cache report, causing the sitemap not to show in browser. Whats up with that. I now have errors in Google Search Console. Is this commented report very necessary in the sitemap? Can i disable it?
There are procedures on the Yoast website to fix some of the thinks caused by this plugin but none that fix this problem.
