• there is no option for lossy compression, so the filesizes really hardly become smaller.

Other plugins offer a choice between lossy and lossless. EWWW for example even offers lossless, as well as 2 different ways of lossy compressing images (jpegmini and tinyjpg) and the results are very good (jpegmini resulting in bigger files but high quality, tinyjpg resulting in smaller sizes and slightly lower quality) with filesizes much smaller than Optimus.

My point is: you should also add a lossy option, then the plugin will be much more complete and will deserve 5 stars.

UPDATE: since you added Webp – now 5 stars!

Well, Optimus is a lossless compression service. Giving that rating seems to be unfair. It’s like judging apples and bananas the same way ??

I am sorry you feel that way, but I don’t agree. It’s an image optimizer, that could offer a lot more than it does now, like some competitors do. It hardly makes my files smaller, if it even makes them smaller at all.

    Also I didn’t give it 1 star, I gave it a decent 3 stars.
