• The good:
The plugin creates an easy to use interface and the resulting look and feel on your website is professional. I particularly liked the pop up when the user reaches the footer. I can’t comment about performance as I am no expert in accessing usage, but it worked reasonably well.

    The not so good:
    1. The constant reminders about leaving feedback are annoying (i get the need to have feedback, but don’t badger the users. It’ll happen).

    2. While testing, I decided to deactivate to check issues that we’re being picked up by gtmetrix. However, the plugin messed with SiteOrigin PageBuilder – page builder no longer appears on any page if I try to edit it. I know its this particular plugin, because when I reactivate it, PageBuilder works again. I am not sure which other plugin(s) are being impacted. I now have to work out how to resolve the issue.

    Conclusion:
I’ve given the plugin 2 stars because of the issues. The plugin shows promise, it’s free and serves a purpose that I’m sure will meet the requirements of some users. I wish the developers success.

Wpinster, I would appreciate if you could first post your issues in the troubleshooting forum before leaving a devastating review.

Regarding 1.), that should disappear (for ever) after you clicked on one of the options. If it didn’t, please share with me your blog url (and ideally access details) so that we can investigate. Please send them to support at ultimatelysocial dot com.

Regarding 2.) we can investigate if you give us access.

Please give us a chance to look into those issues.

    Hi Wpinster,

We installed SiteOrigin PageBuilder and found that our plugin is working nicely with it. Also the review-box disappears. Would you be fine with giving us temporary access to investigate? We won’t change anything there, or browse around, just investigate those issues. It shouldn’t take long.

Please email me your details to support at ultimatelysocial dot com.

Would you be fine with giving us temporary access to investigate?

    Please don’t.

@socialdude I know you only are seeking to help your plugin user.

But do not request that access again in these forums. That’s going too far and that is really frowned upon.
You can ask for details, you can walk the user through help, you can make suggestions. Asking for login credential is solid “No” and please do not do that again.

Ok, thanks for pointing to that Jan, I didn’t know that. Is there a special reason for it? It’s so much easier to get to the bottom of things if we can have a quick look at it ourselves.

This is something that has been discussed in depth in the support team.

No one should ever provide anyone login access to their installation. That’s just common sense and no one should ask that in these forums.

Users here are not customers. They’re not; it really is a totally different relationship. There are times when that may be necessary but for plugin support? No, sorry. Don’t ask for that request.

Easier for you yes. ?? Possibly even for the plugin user. But it’s inappropriate and when found moderators will ask that you do not make that request again.

    Hi socialdude,

Im afraid I can’t help you. I spent 3 weeks re-coding my site from scratch to remove the Ultimate Social Media and Share Icons plugin. The plugin is no longer on my site and I won’t risk installing it again.

Thanks for the follow up though. I wish you guys success.
