• Just wanted to let everyone know that whilst this is a solid plugin, the author fails to mention that once you purchase you only get updates for 3 months. And in case you think “That’s not so bad, I’ll only import once” keep in mind that for some features to work (like the redirect functionality) you NEED to keep the plugin running. Pretty sneaky if you ask me.

    Dear Bowe,

I think you talk about the Premium version.
The version available on https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/fg-prestashop-to-woocommerce/ is free and you can update it with no limit. After the import, you can remove the plugin without loosing anything.

For the Premium version, it is written on https://www.fredericgilles.net/fg-prestashop-to-woocommerce/ that you can get the updates for three months. After three months, the plugin keeps working. You are not forced to update it. However If you want the update after three months, you must renew your purchase.
The Premium plugin needs to be active to handle the redirects and the users authentication using the PrestaShop passwords. You are right for this point, it was not written anywhere. I have just added it in the FAQ: https://www.fredericgilles.net/fg-prestashop-to-woocommerce/faq
    Thank you for the feedback.

    Hi @kerfred,

thanks for the great plugin. I’m considering buying it, but before so, could you be more precise about the 2 features that require renewal ?
What redirects and authentication really are about ? I can’t find info on your website.

Also, I didn’t manage to generate a tax free cart even after validating my french VAT number. Is it normal ?

    Thank you

    Nothing requires renewal.
You can purchase the plugin once and use it forever.
It is only if you want the updates after three months that you need to renew the purchase.

The plugin redirects the PrestaShop URLs to the new WordPress URLs. So you won’t loose the SEO.

The plugin can authenticate the PrestaShop users (admin and customers) using their passwords.

If you are located in France, you must pay the VAT, even if you enter a VAT number.
