• I like building sites with custom community because a lot of my customizations can be stored right inside the theme making it a lot easier for my clients when I’m no longer around. I also use the following plugins.
    CMS Tree Page View
    Insert JavaScript & CSS
    jQuery UI Widgets
    NextGEN Gallery by Photocrati
    Online Backup for WordPress
    Shortcode Exec PHP
    Very Simple Google Maps
    Visual Form Builder
    WordPress SEO
    WP Editor
I’ve found that in this way I never have to modify the actual code in the theme or the core and all of my special mods are documented by the tools. The ShortCode Exec PHP plugin is extremely nice for doing customer solutions.
Custom Community has been very responsive with solutions. I noticed that they fixed the Javascript problem caused during the 3.6 upgrade within a day or so. I use Next Gen but I still use the version that’s one version behind. Because I can’t upload images on 3.6 with the new one.
I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t take the CC export and import it into CC PRO. That was a disappointment which has lead me to continuing to use the free version on most of my new systems. So they missed a few sales there.
