Good Spam Blocker

Akismet isn’t the perfect spam blocking plugin. Occasionally a legit comment will get filtered into the spam box, but for the most part it works well. It’s easy to install, and it’s prevented several spam comments from ending up on my blog. I would make sure to set your comments in the Discussion Setting of WordPress to either Comment author must have a previously approved comment or Comment must be manually approved to help cut down on the spam.
