  • SendGrid is a similar alternative that’s free up to 12,000 emails per month:

If you’re serious about email lists and subscriptions, though, wouldn’t you be happy to pay premium for it? Just curious.

If i will pay for a Mail-Chimp pro account, would the wp-mandrill plugin work as usual? (after doing the adjustments on Mail-Chimp settings, and integrating the accounts)

Or, will wp-mandrill plugin would need to be changed as well?

I’m hoping this plugin will still work a month from now (assuming I’ll pay premium for a Mail-Chimp account).

@blvdev The alternatives in the list above have their own WordPress plugins listed in the directory. Just swap them out.

try your hands on pepipost 25k free emails for a month and pay only for your unopened emails https://www.pepipost.com you will get all details and live chat support

When one has a very small site with light traffic within a niche market, a $10/month bill is too expensive to handle <50 emails per month. Therefore it’s goodbye to another corporate-minded move with a PR spin saying this will improve service to its customers.

I wrote to Mandrill/MailChimp in January about ended their free account plan (even offered to negotiate a reduced rate) and was assured via email/Mandrill Support:
    —–
“. . . Looking at your current sending account, it looks like you initially signed up for your account before we made changes to our free plan and therefore you’ll continue to receive the 12,000 free messages per month. So while we made some changes, any users that had signed up before the changes were grandfathered in and won’t see any changes in their current sending plan. . . “

And now the axe has fallen and they won’t honor this at all. You MUST PAY to use this plugin.

Looks like SendGrid has capitalized on Mandrill’s change. They are offering a discount if you switch from Mandrill to them. Well played SendGrid…well played.
