I just cannot deal with this SHITE any longer. Unable to login, wonky files, perilous upgrades. There’s just no end to the GRIEF that you have to endure just to run a blog with this program. I’ve been an avid supporter since I started using it in March 2004, but honey, the party is OVER.
I’ll be migrating to something else soon enough. Meanwhile enjoy my splash page and I hope all you people get everything sorted out.

    Joni,
If you want i have a hacked up version of WordPress called UnBrokenPress and I could upload it and get it running for you to save all your posts. Its pretty functional. Its a mix of WP/B2/XBlogLite

Oh, sorry to see you go.
I am sorry you are having so many problems. The program seems so FAR superior to movabletype, the only other one I know about.

Sorry to see you go. For me, it’s been a joy to use WordPress. I’ve never used a blog system that is as forgivable and easy to use as WordPress. But, as they say, good bye.

hm. That’s odd. I’ve had problems with wordpress but it’s the only blog system I can stand. b2 was too complicated for me, MoveableType sucked, and greymatter was shit. I found WordPress and convinced my host to switch over to it from b2, and then installed it on my subdomain as well. Had a few problems here and there, but most were because I have a firewall.

I like the 5 min setup but WordPress need a sometime to familiarise and it takes a new user some effort to read through the documents, Wiki and forums to know it’s function.
For Permalinks, it takes me three weeks to figure out how to do it. The solution is not found on WordPress website but from another person’s blog.
I can understand jonimueller’s frustrations as I too, almost gave up WordPress until I tried b2 and other blog tools. When I actually start bloging on WordPress, I must say, I am edited! ??
Perhaps something could be done to improve the documentation and knowledge base as the current Wiki looks alien to beginners.
    my 2 cents worth.

It’s too bad to see an active forum member leave. Regardless if it’s a person who asks questions or one who answers them. The interaction is what makes this support forum such a great asset. I hope she comes back.

Danielck, about your permalinks issue that took three weeks to find info on, you could have just asked us here. We’re always willing to help. ^_-

Gotta say, im not impressed! 2 days of trying to get wordpress to run on window box. Unable to login, redirects to wrong url and heaps of other probs.
im going else, would have been quicker to write this app myself!

Anon, I bet you Beel will have it up and running in 24 hours or less. (Sorry to put you in the spotlight, Beel, but you’ve done it before…quite a few times. ^_- )

installation took 5 minutes alright. But figuring out how to use it took a few days. Some features like permalinks took longer. But it is worth the effort and time spend.

That rates as one of the most ridiculous statements I’ve seen on this forum. Well, done, dude, you’re #1!
