    Hello,

I’m facing a weird bug with Yoast SEO.

For some reason, some of my posts get indexed with a wrong separator and added site title at the end of post title in google search.

    The separator I chose is : |

Most of my pages, categories and post show up properly like this in google :

Page title or Categorie title | Site name

I set my SEO title settings like this for posts :

    Post title

Some articles show up correctly like this in google :

    Post title

Yet, in google, some articles get indexed and appear like this :

    Post title – site name

First, it’s not the separator I chose, and second, I never put my sitename in the SEO title for posts !

    So what’s wrong ?

I tried resubmitting those posts to webmaster tool but it still show up with the wrong separator for some reason.

Does Google need time to update everything ?

    Thank you

  • I’m having the same problem!

Has anyone found a solution? I’ve switched to All in One SEO for the meantime and I’m not loving it.

Experiencing similar problems. The Page Title is extended with the Page Title of the first page of that type of posts. Looking into the Titles & Metas in WordPress, Title template is set to %%title%% – Company-name, so that looks normal.
    It’s obvious Google doesn’t like it…

I am experiencing something similar, but not exactly the same. For the Home/Front page google is showing Company Name(nospace)pagetitle – sitename. The rest of the Pages are using the Permalink /pagename/ and not the title and does not add the “- sitename”. This is OK but it is very unclear what is going to displayed and how to fix it. At least it is not adding the Company name just cause. One the Home/Front I need to add the title and add a space in front of the title to ensure that it does not render with no same.

Why is the home/front page adding the company name?

I get the same thing. I was wondering why the Site Name was showing up even though I didn’t include it in the Title Templates for posts within Yoast’s settings
