Hello

For some reason I’m getting the error “Earnings at risk – One or more of your sites does not have an ads.txt file. Fix this now to avoid severe impact to your revenue.” in both the Advanced Ads plugin and in Google AdSense. But looking at my ads.txt file, it’s showing that I do have a Google record… (In fact it’s showing the record twice because I added it via the Advanced Ads plugin textbox, thinking that would solve the problem)

I’ve also tried to add an Amazon Associates record too – I’m not sure if this is needed, or if it’s correct? (and how do I remove it or change it if it’s not correct?)

I also use other affiliate programs: LoveCrochet.com, Book Depository and ShareASale. Do you know if I need records for these too?

thanks for reaching out.

The problem with that warning is that it appears if any of the sites registered in your account misses the ads.txt file. Unfortunately, there is no way for us to tell which of the URLs is causing the problem when we import the error from your AdSense account.

Please go to Sites > Overview in your AdSense account. It should list the URL(s) that don’t have the ads.txt file. Is that the URL you linked above or another one?

I don’t know which ad networks need an entry in the ads.txt. Best to ask them directly.

Yes, I only use AdSense with one URL: https://www.thesweetestgeek.com

And now, as of this morning, Google AdSense is saying that the ‘Earnings at Risk’ issue has been resolved??

Hi Gemma,

I am happy to read that the issue is resolved. You can just close the warning in Advanced Ads now. We are not updating it constantly since there is a limited number of requests we can make to the AdSense account. It should not come back.

I downloaded the ad.txt file as directed.

How do I upload that file to my site, which is jfkfacts.org?

Hi @jeffmorley, most hosting companies have manuals about how to use FTP. Some even have a tool for that on their site.

If you need further help regarding Advanced Ads then please open a new thread since this one is closed.
