Google adsense, but I decide where advertisements go

Hello!

I hope I’m in the right category here.
I want to monetize my website, I tried to do so automatically through Google Adsense but I was absolutely horrified by how Adsense [expletive deleted] my site. The positioning is in most cases just fine, but the sheer size of some of the advertisements is just depressing, I don’t want LtL to become yet another ad-spam site.

I put an in-between link (horizontal bar ads) in a re-usable block, but after a few months that just stopped working and I don’t know why. It’s very annoying because this was the perfect solution for the problem I was facing.

What I want is: Horizontal advertisement bars in my post-texts (roughly 3 to 5 per post) and one square one in my sidebar (not a vertical one). Is there a plugin or something that gives me full power over where Adsense can place ads?
