Google AMP Errors

It seems the errors are due to PageSpeed. Do you have a PageSpeed module active on your server? It’s adding code like:

<script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number( new Date() );</script>

Which is not allowed in AMP, since custom JavaScript is not allowed.

Yes, it is active. However, there are some sub option to activate ou deactivate. Actually, all these options are turned on:

add_head

combine_css

rewrite_css

combine_javascript

sprite_images

remove_quotes

trim_urls

flatten_css_imports

rewrite_images

move_css_to_head

collapse_whitespace

remove_comments

combine_heads

convert_meta_tags

dedup_inlined_images

elide_attributes

move_css_above_script

So, to work with AMP, I need to deactivate the entire Google Page Speed on my server, or just some of this options above?

Not sure what exactly each of those options does to the pages; the key would be to experiment with them and see the ones that introduce AMP incompatibilities.

AMP does not allow custom JS; any option that introduces scripts should be disabled.

AMP also imposes certain restrictions on CSS use and size; options related to CSS need to be evaluated to see if they cause problems.

@schirmer_rs what plugin are you using that provides these options? Is it a plugin or a module? You’d want to disable the features when the URL ends in /amp/ or contains ?amp

This is a module available on the Web Hosting, and we can activate/deactivate through Control Panel. I can’t personalize to apply the features only in a kind of URLs, like /amp.

BTW, the module is now turned off. I did the same test of you (using the Validator AMP Project) and the Validation Status is now “PASS”.

Does that mean everything’s all right?

Yes, looks good now! The validator is marking it as valid.

Do you have a link for the host’s documentation about its PageSpeed module? Ideally it would be made aware of AMP so as to not make it invalid.

Thanks a lot. It seems mod_pagespeed needs to be made aware of AMP pages to prevent invalidating them.
