Google Analyticator conflict with Lightbox 2 plugin

  • Had Google Analyticator installed and noticed that it seemed to cause the Lightbox 2 plugin to crash and open up images on a blank page instead of in the page overview mode. Removing GA plugin solved the problem. Liked the GA plugin as it gave good data but would rather use another Google plugin and have my site displaying properly. Have switched to Google Analytics for WordPress and there seems to be no display conflict with this plugin. Haven’t checked out the data collection yet however …

    I’ll take a look at this incompatibility for the next release.

    If you want a quick fix, disabling outbound link tracking and download tracking would remove the javascript that is probably conflicting with lightbox 2.

    I’ve had similar issues with my jquery plugins (jcarousel, tipsy and prettyPhoto) and it breaks all my plugins. I tried Google Analytics for WordPress, and it wouldn’t properly track events. This plugin works fine if you’re not tracking events… but unfortunately, the site I’m using it for.. mkepunk.com requires download tracking. so for now.. all my javascript is crippled, in favor of tracking downloads.

    Developer, please fix ASAP.

    This is most definitely on my development list and will be fixed in the next version. I’m hoping within the next week to have time to sit down and code, so I will take a close look at this issue.

    Any additional information you can provide, such as a page where the problem occurs or error messages, would be great.

    I’m running Google Analyticator 6.1.1 in WP 3.0.1 and it is breaking my jQuery slider. While I like the GA plugin most of my new sites are now incorporating sliders, so I guess I’ll have to shop around for a new analytics plugin.

    I confirm the quick fix: I only disabled outbound link tracking and it solved the conflict with lightbox 2.
