Google Analytics

    I am using a combination of Google Analytics, WordPress and the Semper All in One SEO plug in.
    I have read many forums to find the answer myself, however none provide me with the correct answer for my programmes.

    I have set up Google Analytics,

    – Where do I put the put the tracking ID? It says on every page. When I do this, it comes up on the page, visible for the public? Where exactly, behind the scenes, do I place the code so Google Analytics can detect and track this page. Also is it on every page, post, or both?

    I have the snippet I need, starting with and ending with <script> .
    I have been told and read to put it before the closing </head> tag.

    What is this and where is this?

    I am very new to HTML and so would really appreciate very basic and easy to follow instructions from the WordPress dashboard.

  • Go to admin section. Then Appearance -> Editor.

    On the Edit Themes section, check for header.php on the right side and click and search for </head>.

    Just before </head> paste your analytics code.
