    Hi

The split test results are showing higher stats than google analytics.

    Master – 223 (52 unique views)
    Variant – 199 (45 unique views)

On GA however the results are

    Master – 184 (157 unique views)
    Variant – 35 (19 unique views)

I exclude internal traffic from GA, I also exclude bad referral sites as I see them.

I don’t know which to trust? I have set up goals in GA, but I want to know that what i am seeing is correct. I also don’t get why the master and variant have received different views when it is set to 50/50?

    Please could you offer assistance?

    Kind regards

    Faye

    Hi Faye,

Are you using the option to force users to see the same variation again? If so that can have a major difference on the stats, especially between ours and GAs.

On the SPT end, we count a view if the page is loaded. If it doesn’t load then it doesn’t record. Uniques are done the same way, it just doesn’t increment if its the same person.

Could you try using the GA live traffic and test comparing the stats side by side using Incognito/Private Browsing sessions?

This will hopefully give you an idea if it’s tracking real people properly and if the variance is maybe attributable to bots hitting the page and recording a stat in SPT (we do our best to filter them but new bots are created every day).

The split is a random split so while it goes 50/50 there will always be some slight variance from that. On big numbers though you’ll see its pretty close to even.

    Hope this helps!
    Josh
