I’ve added Google Analytics via the Site Kit plugin. The plugin settings show that Analytics is connected to my site. But Analytics is not registering visits. I tried the Tag Assistant tool, but it does not connect so can’t debug. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hello @jpjacob thanks for getting in touch. I can see that you have Site Kit connected successfully and I can see that it has placed the Analytics snippet which looks as it should.

When checking from your Analytics account do you see different stats to what is displayed in Site Kit? If the stats match then this means that Site Kit is working as expected and this is not a Site Kit related issue. We are limited to Site Kit support here so if the data matches then I’d recommend checking the Analytics Help Center.

Have you also made sure that you have the correct UA Analytics property connected? Currently it looks like you have the code ending ‘282-2’ connected. Is that the property you wish to have connected?

Thanks very much for your thoughts Adam. It appears that I have the wrong property connected. There’s an old unused one scheduled for deletion that’s 282-1, and for some reason my site both has its own ID and also 282-2.

What’s the best way to connect to the right property? Do I need to re-install the plugin? Thanks again!

@jpjacob No problem at all. You can change this by going to Site Kit > Settings > Connected Services > Analytics and selecting the edit option.

From here you should now be able to select the correct property from the dropdown options if this property is linked to the same account or you can change the account to the one you wish to use with the correct property.

If you are connected to Site Kit with the wrong Google account then you can also disconnected Analytics from your Site Kit which you can select from the bottom right of the edit section and begin the Analytics set up again making sure to select the correct account.

Hope this helps and please let me know if you have any further questions I can help with.

Thanks, that seems to have worked. I’m connected to the correct account now. But Analytics is still not registering my visits. I guess the next step is Analytics support. Thanks again!

@jpjacob Glad you have got the desired property now connected. If the stats from your Analytics account match the stats you’re seeing in Site Kit then this isn’t a Site Kit issue and as mentioned previously the Analytics Help Center may be able to help you further.

I would be happy just to check things on the Site Kit side for you if you’re happy to provide your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.

@jpjacob Thanks for providing the Site Health Information. I can’t see anything that stands out from a Site Kit perspective. Please do let me know if you spot anything within Site Kit that I can further help with and hope you can find the answers you need from the Analytics Help Center.
