Google Analytics for WordPress

Can’t you just add those few lines from analytics to the footer of your theme?

The plugin allows it to track a lot of different things and options:

Seems to me (from a quick glance at the code) that it should work with 2.3.1. What problems is it having?

Yes I can … but as Otto42 mentioned it is more than what google analytics provides me. Secondly, I keep changing the theme in 4-6 months, so I don’t want to risk forgetting to add those few lines of code.

The problem I was facing was that it does not show the google analytics code at all in the source code of the web page and google was not registering any hits.

I have shifted to another google analytics plugin now. Its called sem-google-analytics and it can be found at https://www.semiologic.com/software/marketing/google-analytics/

Its working fine for me. I dont know why its not on wordpress site.

I have just updated two of my blogs to wordpress 2.6 and have installed this ‘Google Anaytics for wordpress’ plugin on both blogs. Neither works!!

WordPress is at the root of both domains.

When I view source on any of the posts or homepages on either domain I dont see the ga.js google tracking code anywhere. Hmm.

I have checked the options and i am using default settings. Seems rather odd. Perhaps the plugin doesn’t have rights to publish, I login as admin though, so it should

I’m confused! Anyone?
