• I setup a new WordPress site and wanted to try the Google Analytics for WordPress (GAFW) plugin. In the past I’ve used Ultimate Google Analytics but wanted to switch it up.

I installed GAFW but whenever I click to Authenticate, I receive an Invalid token error. I’ve tried this is multiple browsers across OSX and Windows 7. I’ve tried while logged into GMail in the browser and also while logged out and I’ve tried it on browsers I’ve never been on GMail with but don’t have any luck. I also tried de-activating and re-activating the plugin and nothing came of it.

Does anyone have any advice for how to proceed? Thanks in advance for any help!

  • I also had this problem of the “invalid token” error and solved it by going to the:
Google Analytics for WordPress Configuration panel,
then in the first panel of
    “Google Analytic settings”
    click on the box
    “Manually enter your UA code”
then paste in the UA code, which you get from your Google Analytics account.
