A couple of questions about site kit.

    1. To Confirm, Site Kit does NOT install google analytics code on your site, it only displays the reporting data. If you want Google Analytics code installed you have to install it using a plugin or adding the code to WP.

    2. To Confirm, If you install the Google Tag Manager Plugin part of Site Kit CAN install the Google Tag Manager code into your website.

I want to use site kit but I already have Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager installed the way I like and do not want Google Site Kit to conflict with how I have GA & GTM configured or double count visitors.

    Thanks!

  • @eskwire thanks for the inquiries!

    1) Site Kit can install the Analytics snippet on as well as display data for your site. Once the Analytics connection is enabled, it checks if there is an existing snippet in the source code of the site. When it detects the existing snippet, it will not insert its snippet.

    2) Like Analytics, Site Kit can install the Tag Manager container code on the site. The Tag Manager connection also detects if there is existing code on the site (recently added in version 1.2.0) and will not insert the container code if it exists already (will add the code if it does not).

One thing to note is that if you have included the Analytics Tag in Tag Manager, Site Kit currently does not detect it. We’re discussing possible solutions for this.

    gtmetrix displays the following problem:

Serve resources from a consistent URL:

The following resources have identical contents, but are served from different URLs.
Serve these resources from a consistent URL to save 1 request(s)

Installation is done with the Google Sitekit plugin (Analytics and Tag Manager both enabeld).
Any good advise how to solve this?

@reneesoffice Is there already an idea about:
