• Google Analytics for WordPress v4.3.3

I recently started using Google Analytics for WordPress instead of header code, but noticed that the sites that use it fail to load In-Page Analytics.

In full view, the console shows the following error:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method ‘appendChild’ of null
    ssl.gstatic.com/analytics/20130718/web/inpage.js:365

I’ve double checked the sites’ setup in Analytics. URL examples are https://www.dsarchitecture.com.au and https://www.behappyinlife.com.

    Thank you,
    Gal

  • Delete that plugin and reinstall it and see if it works.

These are two separate sites and the plugin version is the latest, so it’s never been upgraded. What will that accomplish?

    What will that accomplish?

There can be incomplete codes/installation. Deleting and reinstalling will solve that.

Accoding to this thread, this situation is caused by running inpage.js before the page finished loading.

Joost, can this be changed by the plugin somehow? By default, the GA code is not enclosed in CDATA tags.
