    Hi,

The plugin currently only supports the universal analytics integration. If you use gtag.js method, that is not going to work yet.

    Best regards,

    Ernest, thanks for your reply.
Client is using UA, see code (using MonsterInsight GA plugin) in this screenshot:

    Hi,

That explains it then. The original analytics tracker functions is called ‘ga’, but in this code it is scoped as ‘__gaTracker’. I have noted to add this alternative function name as an alias for the ‘ga’ in the future release.
There is an update scheduled for later this week, this fix should be included within that.

    Best regards,

Aha, you’re using ga as default (which is logical in a way). And yes, that won’t work then when using MonsterInsights.

Great that you are going to add __gaTracker as alternative function name. Maybe it’s good to have this as an option, to let advanced users enter the alternative ga function name?

That is definitely something I will consider adding.

    Hi,

    thanks for the update.
After updating, is there anything that needs to be done (besides what has already been done) to have the searches appear in GA?

    Hi,

No further action should be needed. I believe however there might be an error in the updated code, I will test it in the next few days.

In the meantime, can you please try changing the {asl_term} string within the settings to {asp_term}. That should bypass the problem as of now.

    Best regards,

    Hi,

I have updated the Google analytics pageview string to ?ajax_search={asp_term}.
Then I try a few searches, and I don’t see them in de realtime view, or in the site search overview. Any tips on how to get this working?

UPDATE: Site is heavily cached, cleared cache and now I see the search in the realtime view in GA. Wooohoo, thanks!
