    Hi,

Please help with the following :

I tried to set up Site Kit by Google, but I couldn’t connect the pluginin to Google Analytics. However, for Google Search Console and Page speed, everything is fine – I got the connected service.

    The problem :

Error: We’ve detected there’s already an existing Analytics tag on your site (ID UA-178503533-1), but your account doesn’t seem to have access to this Analytics property. You can either remove the existing tag and connect to a different account, or request access to this property from your team.

The URL to site health: https://aptiveight.com/wp-admin/site-health.php

    Appreciate your kindness,
Edward Tho for Aptiv8 IT Pte Ltd

    Hi Edward,

Thanks for opening a support topic. In order to find the additional Analytics snippets have you checked your Monster Insights configuration? You should be able to remove this snippet via Monster Insight and change the property to once which you have access to.

Let me know if you’re unable to locate that snippet from within your Monster Insights plugin.

Note if you have access to that property from another Google account another option is to login to Google analytics with an account that has access to that property and then grant access to the Google account which you used to setup Site Kit.

No problem, happy to help. You have options now that you’ve located the source, you can continue to use that existing property code but you would need to determine the Google account which has access to that property. You could then grant access to the Google account you’ve used to setup Site Kit.

Another option is to remove that snippet by clicking on the “Disconnect MonsterInsights” button. You can then connect once more to a Google Analytics account and property associated with the Google account you’ve used to setup Site Kit. You can do this using MonsterInsights once more or using Site Kit to insert your Analytics snippet.

Let me know if you have any trouble and I’d be happy to assist.

As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.

In the case someone as the issue, for me it was that I set up Woocommerce Google Analytics integration, and so it was adding analytics code and tag.
Removing the tag from Woocommerce setting page worked.
    So:
    – check if your template has any analytics or gtag code
    – check if any plugin has an analytics/gtag settings as it could add the analytics tag

You can also use Google extension to check for analytics/gtag on your page: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tag-assistant-legacy-by-g/kejbdjndbnbjgmefkgdddjlbokphdefk

@mtxz Thanks for the additional insights. Correct that it’s always good to check such plugins or features such as WooCommerce, which does indeed provide Analytics integration.

Note that the Chrome Extension is being migrated to a web based app. You can find it below:
