    Hello,

Site Kit is linked to the right Analytics, but visits are still 0 in Analytics, no activity at all.

    What would be the problem?

    Many thanks for your help

  • this is the same as my individual post, gaslighting about the issue because we can find another way to insert the script.

you have many people with the same error, have you tried replicating @adamdunnage on your side? Or just will we just keep denying the fact that the plugin is not inserting the script :/

@doobeedoo I believe I may have found the cause here. When looking over your Site Health once more I can see that your WP_ENVIRONMENT_TYPE?set to?local in your wp-config.php file. This needs to be updated to production otherwise Site Kit will not place any code snippets on your site. Please could you try updating this and checking once more to see if once updated, Site Kit places the necessary code on your site?

We do have an open GitHub issue for this to make improvements on this so please also feel free to follow this for more updates. If you’re unsure on how to update this file then reach out to your hosting provider who should be able to help with that.

Let me know how you get on with this or if you wish for me to check your site once you have made the amendment to your wp-config file.

    Hello @adamdunnage

    Updating WP_ENVIRONMENT_TYPE to production worked

    Thank you!

Solution suggestion to avoid this issue:

In Site Kit, Analytics, next to “Insert snippet”, if WP_ENVIRONMENT_TYPE == local, write something like:

Warning: The WP_ENVIRONMENT_TYPE in your wp-config.php is set to “local”. Site Kit will not insert the Analytics snippet in this environment. To enable the snippet, update the value to “production”

@doobeedoo Glad to hear that this worked and we found the cause of your problem. Thank you for you patience and troubleshooting efforts with this and for the recommended improvement which I agree would be useful if possible so I will raise this with the team to see if we can make such an improvement.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Hi Adam,

Yes, can you ask the Site Kit team to do something about this, so it does not happen on my next website or other users? Maybe my warning display suggestion, or any better solution that you could find on your end

    Kind regards
