I’ve tested the process on another computer, accepted cookies, and browsed the website, but nothing has shown up in my Google Analytics account (it’s a new website, so not much traffic yet). The “Disable Google Analytics Integration” checkbox is not checked and I don’t have my IP blocked for tracking in my Google Analytics account.

Is anyone else having this issue? I want to be sure this is working before I spend time setting up the plugin on my other websites and client websites.

As far as set up, claimed capabilities, and look of the floating box, this is the best plugin I’ve found so far, so I hope I can get it working or that there’s an easy fix.

My Google Analytics account also says my website “is missing valid tracking code” and “No valid tracking code found for property.” Is there something else I need to do other than adding my Google Analytics ID for that domain?

    Hi,

do you use the cookie banner as opt-in or only as notification.
Please show me your current settings for analytics and the cookie banner.

Have you checked the code of your website for the analytics code?

    kind regards
    Pascal

    I use it as opt-in.

I checked with Chrome Developer Tools and it says “Failed to load resource: net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT” https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=UA-119536778-1

    My website is https://ditchthepain.ca

    I don’t think I can attach screen shots…

Google Analytics Mode: Global Site Tag

    Advanced Tracking Settings”
    Anonymize IP: Checked
Link Tracking: Enable Outbound Link Tracking
    Enhanced Link Attribution: Checked
Domain to track: Auto Mode, no custom code

    Cookie Notice:
    Compliance Type: Opt-in
    Position: Floating Right
    Layout: Block
    Enable Policy Link: Checked

    Other Tracking Codes: None currently
    Compliance Type: Checked

ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT means most times, that the Google Analytics Code was blocked by an AdBlocker Extension.

If you are using a Caching-System together with the opt-in methode, it could be possible, that your cache does not deliver the new files after an successful opt-in.

I do have WP Super Cache plugin. My webhost insisted I use a caching plugin on my websites because a couple of my sites were using up a lot of bandwidth. I’m looking into it, although I don’t know what all of the settings mean. Is there something you know of that I can do to prevent it from interfering?

Currently not, you can disable the whole cache as a quick check if that could bring the GA code to your website.

I thought I had it working. I disabled a hidden cache plugin that my webhost installed with the WordPress installation and played around with the settings of the cache plugin I have. I see my activity in Google Analytics now.

But my problem now is that it showed me as active in Google Analytics before I chose to accept or deny cookies, and it shows me as being active even after I denied cookies. It’s not supposed to do that, is it?

After some more testing, what seems to be happening right now is:

    1. Google Analytics was tracking before Accept or Deny option was chosen.

    2. When I denied cookies, there was a delay of several minutes before Google Analytics caught up and stopped tracking. (Although it’s possible maybe I was inactive long enough that it no longer saw me as active.)

    3. When I changed my mind, click on the box and Accepted Cookies, staying on that page, nothing happened. Google Analytics didn’t see me as active.

    4. When I then went to a different page on the website, Google Analytics started tracking me again.
