Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager Tracking

We activated Google Analytics event tracking with no luck under settings. Events ARE NOT being recorded at this time, and we have Google Analytics setup inside Google Tag Manager.

Do you have a simple tutorial that shows users how to setup Google Tag Manager event tracking if Google Analytics events are not working in the WordPress plugin? I noticed others had this problem on earlier threads, and I saw one thread that mentioned tracking via Google Tag Manager would be released on version 3. I saw this on a post submitted 9 months ago.
