My google analytics dashboard does not seem to be tracking my site. When I go straight to google analytics, it tells me there’s an error, but no info on what it is or how to fix it.

I installed this plugin hoping to get around that error, but it’s showing 0 or 1 page views per day (since late Jan), while the Yoast plugin shows several thousand visitors in the past month alone.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

  • Hi,

If you’re using multiple tracking plugins at once that’s expected. When using multiple Google Analytics plugins make sure only one is doing the tracking and that you’re selecting the right View in GADWP’s General Settings. For more details check out the plugin’s documentation and related tutorials.

    thanks for reply.

but this can’t be causing the error message on analytics.google.com. correct?

Yes, it does. You haven’t mentioned the error, so I guess is “Tracking not installed”. This error is covered by the FAQs page. Like I said before, please read the documentation and give as much details as possible.

If you have a different error, which is not covered, post it here.

Actually, I had mentioned it in my first post.

Here’s the error I get from GA: “Internal error. Please try again later.
Analytics has encountered an unexpected condition and cannot fulfill your request.”

Okay, so for the plugin issue follow the resources mentioned above.

For the issue you’re having on Google Analytics try to clear your browser cache and cookies, and disable adblockers or any other privacy browser extensions you may use.

    Thanks, Alin.

GA is working now, and so is your plugin.
