Google Ana./Opt. – WP changes .html to -html

  • I am trying to set up Google Analytics and Optimizer. When I try to the code Google gave to add to my URL to prove ownership, I created a new page, but when I hit “Update” on WP, the address changes from .html to -html, so of course Google doesn’t recognizee it. What’s up?

  • that’s not the way

    just open notepad or similar
    add the google code
    save with .html extension
    upload to site via ftp or host’s file manager
    verify site
