Google and Custom Post Types

  • I have a wordpress site, gooutlocal.com that uses custom post types. However the custom post types are not being recognized by google search or adsense. It’s like the custom post type is a box full of our original content that google can’t see inside of. What can I do to change this? Thanks!!

  • Can you list and describe the different post types and associated taxonomies?

    Also, have you added your site to Google Webmaster Tools?

    Lastly, I would look at different XML Sitemap plugins since your site’s current sitemap doesn’t seem to match up with your site structure.

    Another option would be to have a look at installing a html sitemap to see if the ‘missing custom post types are on there, if not, then its your sitemap/seo plugin at fault.
