I am using the cMap 5.3.1 template by Steven A. Zahm but I would like turn off the Show Map option because I am having a difficult time making it work with Google since Google’s recent change in pricing. Is it possible to turn that feature off in that template? If not, I highly recommend you consider adding that option since that is my favorite template.

    Thanks,

    Russ

First I must mention that support questions for commercial plugins for WordPress is not permitted in their support forums. The forum mods will lock or delete it.

Please post support questions for cMap here:

To answer you question, yes, it can be easily turned off.

Navigate to the Connections : Templates admin page and click the Customize button for cMap.

The page will reload with the Customizer on the left and a preview on the left.

Click the back arrow in the upper left of the Preview and then click the Map panel. Now disable the map option.

Notice the instructions in the preview above the directory. Give them a quick read so you better understand the next step.

Click an entry name, any entry name, in the preview. The preview will refresh displaying the single entry profile page.

    Disable the map again.

Lastly Publish the changes and exit the Customizer.

    Hope that helps!

That worked but now I would like to also hide the map from the detail page. I have posted this question on the other forum. Thanks for the very prompt reply!

    Thanks,

Follow the instructions I gave in my previous reply… here’s the section that relates to disabling the map on the detail page:

Sorry but I must be missing something. What you are saying makes sense but while in the Customize view, if I click on anything in the Preview area the Customize sidebar goes back to the Customize options for my theme and I am not able no longer able to see the Customize options for Connections plugin, therefore I am unable to uncheck the Map option for the detail page. I thought it might be a limitation of my theme so I temporarily change to the WordPress Twenty Seventeen theme but I got the same results. Any ideas?
