For multiple websites, I’ve authenticated with Google and yet on the Current Status page am still shown the message in red ‘Have not yet obtained an access token from Google – you need to authorise or re-authorise your connection to Google Drive.’ …even though the confirmation message post re-authentication in red states I have successfully authenticated.

This issue has arisen since changing these sites to https.

I updated the url in Google Credentials to https before authenticating and there have been no authentication error messages.

Now the backup files are accruing on the server instead of being uploaded to Google Drive.

Any tips on what I can do to make sure that these sites are authenticated so the files will upload to Google Drive?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Andris,

Please could you re-authenticate with Google Drive, and send us a copy of the authentication success message?

Could you also send us a copy of the latest backup log, found in the Existing Backups tab?
The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Pastebin.

Are you using separate Google projects for each site, or are all sites authenticated with the same project?

    Hi D,

    Thanks for your quick response.

    Here’s the success message:

Success: you have authenticated your Google Drive account. Name: Andris Dinsbergs. Your Google Drive quota usage: 1.6 % used, 10485760 MB available

    but this still appears:

Have not yet obtained an access token from Google – you need to authorise or re-authorise your connection to Google Drive.

I’m using the same Project but different ‘OAuth 2.0 client IDs’ for each site of which there are about 28.

    The log file:
https://pastebin.com/mfXDCbJL (Not finished) – most recent
    https://pastebin.com/NVP7ygTL (20 Feb)

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi,

Both logs appear to start at the second resumption, rather than the beginning of the backup.
This indicates that there is a deeper issue with the backups running.

Please could you access the site via FTP, and find any logs in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory? These should contain the first part of the backups that are failing.

    Hi,

Here is the other log from the 27 Feb:

    https://pastebin.com/0DaDHdVx

Incidentally, I am not getting the Google Authentication message on the Current Status page anymore for this site, after I re-authenticated again several days ago (which was a week after updating the Google credentials to https).

I am suspecting that the issue may simply be that when the site URL was updated in the Google credentials to the https variant, it may take some time for Google to actually implement/propagate the change – even though it shows as updated in the credentials list. Then shortly after when I had performed the Updraft plus authentication it was still authenticating with the http variant.

Now this is just a deduction from seeing that other sites which I re-authenticated recently are not having upload issues anymore.

After another weekly cycle of file backups I can confirm that will all the re-authentication I did they are still not working as per my first support post. Please help.

    Hi,

Sorry for the lack of reply – WordPress’s forum sometimes, for reasons we don’t understand, does not display topics in date order. Please can you post a link again if you’re still having a problem? (Pastebin has removed the previous one).

    David
