• Dear all,

I have ticked the authenticator code field in wordpress without taking note of the code. Now I can no longer access my website.

Can it be reset? Override? Deleted? I’m desparate…

    Thank you in advance
    Djena

Hm, that doesn’t sound like a very safe authenticator plugin.

To be clear, Google Authenticator is a time-based code system. You need to add the key to an app (like Google Authenticator), and the code changes every 20 seconds. It’s not a one-time-use code that you simply take note of and use every time.

Most Authenticator plugins also require you to enter the code generated by the app before completing the setup, to ensure that you are ready to go.

To disable the current authenticator, navigate to /wp-content/plugins/ via SFTP, FTP, or your hosting provider’s file manager, then delete the plugin’s directory.

Once that’s done, install a good authenticator plugin, like https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/google-authenticator/ ??

    Hi!

Thanks so much. Really much appreciated

I’m trying your second alternative even though SFTP and FTP do not say much to me ??

Thank you for the link of the save plugin…

    Cheers!!!!!
