I’ve recently installed WP-adverts and have the maps and locations add on so I could get Google autocomplete for any location which is input. However it does not appear to be working properly.

On both the advert add page and advert listing page, the location only autocompletes some of the time and I often have to refresh the screen several times to get it to work.

The main problem however comes from searching for an advert on the listing page. When I put in any location (even one that is already showing in the locations list) and when the radius is set for up to 50 miles, I get an error screen coming up which shows “Error 404 – Error Page – What you are looking for is not here”.

I know there are listings there in the search area so not quite sure why I’m getting the error message or why the location autocomplete is only working sporadically. My Google API Key is showing as “ok” when I check it

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,
the 404 error seems to be some kind of conflict with a plugin which registers a “location” custom post type as it appears only when there is a &location=… in the URL.

If you have some other plugins installed please try disabling them one by one and see when and if the problem goes away, this should allow narrowing the conflict to a plugin.

I see you have a WP Events Manager plugin i would start with disabling it, if i remember correctly it had some conflict with the WPAdverts in the past.

One additional question, how do i replicate the problem on your site when you cannot autocomplete? or how does the problem look like?

Thanks Greg, I’ve deactivated several other location plugins which I wasn’t using which seem to have resolved the 404 error.

The occasional autocomplete problem is still an issue though. When I first navigate to the advert add screen and start typing in the Location field, sometimes it comes up with “This page can’t load Google Maps Correctly” and sometimes nothing comes up in the location box. However after refreshing the screen (no other alterations made), often the words “enter a location” comes up in the locations box and as I type, Google autocomple starts. Any ideas?

    Many thanks

If you could paste a link to a page with [adverts_add] shortcode then i can take a look at it.

On the site, i noticed there is the following JavaScript error “You have included the Google Maps JavaScript API multiple times on this page. This may cause unexpected errors.”. Usually, this is not a problem but just to be sure you can disable the other plugin which uses maps (in your case it is wyz-toolikt if i am not mistaken) and see if it helps.

If it does but you need to have the wyz-toolikt enabled then you can use the Plugin Organizer https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/plugin-organizer/ which will allow you to disable the wyz-toolkit only on the page with [adverts_add] shortcode.

Thanks Greg, the plugin organiser seems to have done the trick!
