Hello @w-sky, this issue should be resolved now. I have changed the Genres select field to be a standard text field and made some code updates to reflect this change. I think this is the best way forward as Google will most likely introduce new Genres all the time so having a free-form text field will allow publishers to adapt to these changes.

    Thanks for this solution. ??

Just thinking… a drop down list or checkboxes would be easier maybe. How about using standard text field(s) in settings, and checkboxes at editing (with the labels saved at settings).

I think I found a minor bug though. If the label field of a post is left empty when published, in the xml news feed the labels will be given as default but written like this with s:7: and quote signs:

    <news:genres>s:7:”Meinung”;</news:genres>

PS: Meinung is our default label, saved in settings. Ifaik Google will accept translated labels. If you look up the help page like this https://support.google.com/news/publisher/answer/4582731?hl=de it won’t mention the english label names anywhere.
