    Hi,

I use GTM4WP plugin on the website and this is how the website is connected to Google Tag Manager. I have not activated anything in the integrations tab of the GPDR Cookie Compliance plugin. I have now enabled only Google Tag Manager – Consent Mode – V2 and set the Tracking ID and then selected 3rd party cookies.

In addition to that, I had not specified anything in the head, body and footer section of the 3rd Party Cookies tab and I left this blank as GTM communicates with Google Ads.

My question would be, with this setting, did I set everything up correctly for Consent mode v2 to work properly? Also, since I have 2 plugins with the GTM tracking ID (GTM4WP + GDPR Cookie Compliance), won’t it count the data twice?

    Waiting for your reply.
    Best regards,
    Tamas

    Hello,

    Thanks for using our plugins.

We would not recommend using both GTM4WP and Google Consent Mode settings at the same time in our plugin – we recommend choosing one or the other toggle, not both.

We also recommend speaking to your development team to check the integrations and inspect your GTM scripts using Google Tag Assistant to see which tags are fired and how your tags operates.

    Hope this helps. ?

    Hi,

So in this case I would like to use only the GDPR Cookie Compliance plugin.

In this case, what additional settings should I set in the integrations tab? Can I delete the GTM4WP plugin and have Google Tag Manager + the Google Tag Manager consent mode v2 function activated within the plugin?

    Hello,

We recommend choosing just one method: standard GTM implementation or GTM Consent Mode v2

Please note, the Google Consent Mode v2 is an advanced integration method. For that reason, we recommend speaking to your development team to check the integrations and inspect your GTM scripts using Google Tag Assistant to see which tags are fired and how your tags operate.

    Hope this helps.

    Hola!

Muchos plugins ya tienen plantillas en la galería comunitaria de Google. Deberían ofrecer al menos una guía para sus usuarios y no ser distantes.

    Hello!

Do you have a tutorial for GTM4WP integration?

    Thank you

    Hello,

We have no tutorial as such, just direct integration with GTM4WP plugin here:

The GTM4WP option will be shown if the GTM4WP is active on your site.

    Hope this helps.

@moove can you be less helpful? As if a developer like me is specialised in consent mode. I mean this isn’t rocket science. GTM4WP is set up perfectly. consent mode is activated for the tags in tag manager, consent tag and trigger have been set up in tag manager to fire before the tracking tags. But whatever we do, our tags are always fired without consent. So i’m pretty convinced this is a GDPR Cookie Compliance setting related issue.

Most cookie banner plugins have a block loading of scripts before consent option, yours only states integration, which is confusing.

“We recommend choosing just one method: standard GTM implementation or GTM Consent Mode v2”
What kind of cryptic answer is this?? Clearly anyone today needs consent mode v2, so which one we choose when using GTM4WP? Both? You have no documentation so any help…

“to check the integrations and inspect your GTM scripts using Google Tag Assistant to see which tags are fired and how your tags operate.”
Tags are pretty straight forwards, what is there to inspect other than checking consent mode under advanced…

Please help your users figure this out, im sure it will increase your userbase…

    Hi @aristotle25

    Thanks for using our plugins.

As mentioned before we would not recommend using both GTM4WP and Google Consent Mode settings at the same time in our plugin – we recommend choosing one or the other option/toggle, not both.

    Hope this helps.
