Google Console Sitemap Error – FIX

  • I have seen lots of talk about the new search console not accepting the Yoast sitemap.

    The solution I found to work is odd but works.

    When you submit the URL, it looks like this but most of the time fails to fetch.

    https://www.example.com/sitemap_index.xml

    The solution is Search Console will accept by adding an extra “/” after the domain and before the sitemap.

    https://www.example.com//sitemap_index.xml
