Google says there are coverage issues with MOST of my BWG galleries (Oddly not everyone though).
    Its states:
    Submitted URL marked ‘noindex’

    URLS with issues are at:
    mywebsite.co.uk/bwg_gallery/gallery-name

When I inspect the URL it states
Indexing allowed? No: ‘noindex’ detected in ‘robots’ meta tag

When I search the code of the page for the term ROBOTS it doesnt state ‘noindex’ next to it.

This is also happening with my other websites too.

    Any help anyone please?

  • Dear @coffee_king,

If you want to index the pages then you should change option in Gallery -> Options -> General -> Discourage Search Engine Visibility.

    Sincerely,

Thanks for the response but I’m not sure what you mean here?
    I already have:
Gallery -> Options -> General -> Discourage Search Engine Visibility
    Set to NO

As I DON’T want to discourage search engine visibility.

    This is NOT the issue.
Please kindly re-read my original post and advise further.

Anyone got any further info on this please? It’s been a week and I haven’t had a response that makes any sense. This is still an open issue.

    Dear @coffee_king,

    Sorry for the belated response.

Do you have any SEO plugins installed on your site?

We can’t find noindex in the page.

Can we have more screenshots with your findings?

    Sincerely,

    Hi

What other screenshots would you like please?

    Any update here please?

    Dear @coffee_king,

When we inspect this page: https://britpopreunion.co.uk/bwg_gallery/britpop-wedding-december-2016/ there is no noindex meta detected.

The screenshot you provided shows that the page was last crawled in December 2019.

    Sincerely,

    Thread Starter coffee_king

    (@coffee_king)

It CAN’T be crawled/re-indexed/fixed BECAUSE Google says
No: ‘noindex’ detected in ‘robots’ meta tag.
So how do I “Fix” this issue then please?
Bear in mind that these “Pages” are created by your plugin automatically and not by us users.

    @coffee_king,

You want the pages to be crawled please double check these settings:
Photo gallery -> Options -> General -> Discourage Search Engine Visibility -> No
Setting -> Reading -> Search Engine Visibility -> Uncheck: https://nimb.ws/hS9Gu0

    Sincerely

    Thread Starter coffee_king

    (@coffee_king)

    It’s already set like this.

    Dear @coffee_king,

If the settings are correct, the images will be crawled.

Please allow a bit more time.

This has been an issue since 22nd March 2020 which was when I uploaded the info of where my sitemap is to Google Search Console. (When I started to use GSC) It has shown up as an affected page ever since. Something isn’t working right somewhere and I’d like to get to the bottom of whats up.

I have 21 /bwg_gallery/ pages that this is effecting on this site (And teh same on other sites too)

The oldest “Last crawl” is 31 Jul 2019 on
    https://britpopreunion.co.uk/bwg_gallery/britpop-wedding/

attached is another image from GSC.

    Dear @coffee_king,

Photo Gallery plugin does not modify any meta tag itself. We only use WordPress or Seo plugins functionality to do some basic tricks like “Discourage Search Engine Visibility” for Photo Gallery custom pages only. So please navigate to /wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpseo_titles#top#post-types and review settings for Galleries ( bwg_gallery ).

    Sincerely,

    (@coffee_king)

Photo Gallery plugin does not modify any meta tag itself.

As stated above I’ve reviewed the settings and its not making any difference.
Then what else might be causing this issue please?
Surely I cant be the only user with this issue

    Dear @coffee_king,

We have not received any similar requests from other users.

Maybe you can try creating a new gallery and monitoring the new one?

If all the settings are correct, there should not be any problem.

    Sincerely,
