  • @bschmidttraub: Thanks for the response, its a strange one, had a number of members stating they cant view any of the news updates in IE11 today but could yesterday, then we tried it today and noticed we couldn’t either.

    We have tried it on 3 computers in the office and a PC from home all running IE11.02..just hangs at about 90% across the loading bar. Works fine on Chrome and Firefox.

    At first we thought it may be the configuration of our office computers, but when we tried it on the one at someones home (not our Windows build) and noticed the same issue.

    Typical IE…We are at a loss.

    Now just tried it in full screen mode and that seems to have stopped working too?

    Edit: If I change GDE to use standard view instead of enhanced view it works in full screen.

    Managed it, cleared the chache in IE11 and it loaded fine. So it looks like I have alolt of members who I am going to have to ask to clear the cache.

    Update: Will adding cache=”0″ to the shortcode help with this issue?

    It might, but I suspect not. That option prevents the document from being cached at Google, and is only useful on documents that are frequently overwritten (new versions at the same URL). It won’t assist with local browser cache issues.

    Sorry for your difficulty with IE11. I am hoping the incompatibility will be resolved soon. The browser is officially supported by Google, but as you can see it’s still not working without forcing the rendering to an earlier version.

    I’m having the same problem – the code below doesn’t seem to be working for me either ?

    <meta http-equiv=”x-ua-compatible” content=”IE=EmulateIE10″>

    @andy0829 use the developer tool in IE ( hit F12) to see if IE is in the correct mode (under Emulation)

    bschmidttraub – thanks for the reply

    Checked that and it seems to be in default mode – EDGE (default)

    If i select IE 10 from the document mode dropdown it works , so dont know why it won’t obey the code below ?

    This shows in view source on line 41 –

    <meta http-equiv=”x-ua-compatible” content=”IE=EmulateIE10″>

    https://www.hawkesdown.co.uk/school-ethos-and-aims/

    any ideas ?

    ps. seems to work in full view , just not the view on page

    funny! it works for me even in the default edge mode. Looks like IE 11 works now!

    nothing here ! same , same

    ps. the reason why the meta didn’t works on your page it’s because it is not the next tag below the title tag. IE will ignore these.

    No, IE 11 still has a problem.
    Following bschmidttraub’s comment above ‘Looks like IE 11 works now!’, I tried removing the IE 10 emulation meta tag from my header and the viewer just hung. Have restored the meta tag and the viewer works.

    bschmidttraub – Thanks , i’ll fix that

    update – seems to be working as normal now without the fix ??

    Checked it on a few machines running IE 11 and it all loads fine.

    Don’t know who’s fixed what , but happy it’s working ??
