I have Updraft on multiple sites (13) and on many of them, Google Drive will not stay authorized for more than 1 backup, if that. Sometimes, part of the backup uploads to Drive, and other parts do not. No matter when the issue arises, the error in the logs is: “Google Drive error when requesting access token: response does not contain access_token. Response: { “error” : “invalid_grant”, “error_description” : “Token has been revoked.””.

This comes although I am beyond sure I have setup Updraft correctly with Drive, following the instructions to a tee. Updraft says I’m authorized, and even tells me the amount of available space in my Drive. I am sure I am following the instructions correctly, as a couple of the 13 sites upload to Drive on the first backup after I set it up. Although, these sites do not work on their next scheduled backup, and they throw the same error as above.

I have a different Client ID setup for each site, and I cannot figure out what is going wrong. It authorizes, and then 2 seconds later the backup fails due to it not being authorized.

I also noticed that in the 2 times I have tried to troubleshoot this issue, wiping the settings and redoing the Drive setup works, but only with the first two sites I do it with. As I noted, I have 13 sites setup with Updraft, and after wiping the settings from the first two and re-setting them up, they are successful. When going through the same process, the remaining sites still do not work and there is a weird thing that happens when authorizing. Instead of asking for access to my files on the request for access page, Updraft only asks for “Offline Access”. I have to go click the authorization link again on the settings page to get to the request for access page again where it actually asks for access to my files (which I know it needs to upload to my Drive). On the first two sites I wipe/reset, I do not get this “Offline Access” piece. It immediately asks for the correct access, access to my files.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong or what is going on?

    Hi,

Are you using a separate Google Developer Project for each site?

    Hi John,
    Any resolution to your issue?
I have 25 sites using Updraft and experience the same issue with each site. I have 25 different Google developer projects – 1 for each site – different tokens for each.

My only guess, and this is drawing at straws, is that there’s some kind of issue related to WP remembering username/passwords for Admin login and maybe writing over the Google token user/pass? Doesn’t make sense, but I can’t think of anything else.

I can re-authorize and manually do the backup and it pushes the backup off-site just fine. Seems to work fine until I login to the admin, but again, maybe that’s just the point I notice the issue.
