Google & Facebook XML Feed Mismatch

XML Feed for Facebook and Google output each product in a <product> wrapper vs a <item> wrapper. Changing “Single Item Wrapper” in the “Manage Feeds” section to “item” saves correctly, but the XML file does not generate using the new wrapper
