• Hey Themeansar staff,

really great theme you made there. But I got a little problem with the way the theme manages its use of Google Fonts. On a clean install with no other plugins active and the font family OpenSans set via the theme customizer there are 4 calls of the Google Fonts API according to the browser DevTools, pic below:

The second and third API call is used for the “Josefin Sans” and “Rubik” fonts (and these fonts only).

But now the first and fourth call is used for “Rubik” (again?) and “OpenSans” and seems to ask for a massive amount of other fonts (1.800 different font and styling combinations) from the Google Fonts API, see below

In times of the GDRP this is giving me some real headache. Most WordPress plugins to replace Google Font links with locally hosted versions (eg.Local Google Fonts – WordPress plugin | www.ads-software.com ) work fine with the smaller API calls but fail to process the other two calls for “Rubik” and “OpenSans”.

Would appreciate it if you could look into that.

  • To me i ended up trying to host the fonts locally but it gave me 500 error, so i disabled fonts,i dunno why it said so
