google fonts loading

Maybe this is a stupid question or I missed some basic info, but this is the problem. I am experimenting with a block theme, namely with Frost, and I cannot figure out how to load google fonts. It seems quite easy, reading the info on the web, but:

1. installing Create Block theme plugin, there is no Manage Theme Fonts submenu entry under Appearance. It seems to have been dropped, probably there were reasons for this.
2. Following another guide, Appearance –.>editor–>styles, edit styles, manage styles, there is the page listing the fonts used in the theme (only two), but there is no Load Google fonts button, as shown in the instructions on the web. Note that this procedure seems to work, for example, in twenty-twentythree.

What am I missing? dId the mechanism to load fonts change, or you simply cannot load fonts any l;onger? Thank you for your help and patience…
