    Hello,

I installed the plugin on a newly installed WordPress and added one font from Google Fonts but can’t see it in Elementor. I have no other plugins installed besides Elementor and this plugin and their both at their latest version, because like I said it’s a new WordPress.

Here’s a screenshot, I only see the sytem fonts on the Elementor editor:

Is there an additional step I’m missing? Thanks in advance!

Same here, I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling etc. Can’t see the google fonts I have saved in Custom Fonts.

    Hi @lamayas,

    Sorry, I missed your thread.

It works well for me. Refer to this video, please.

What font did you use, I will try it on my end.

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??

    Hi Herman,

I had actually looked through the forum before creating this thread and did notice the same thing has been posted multiple times with the same response.

I attached a screenshot to show that the font doesn’t load, so I feel like you replying “Well, it works for me so it must be working”, is not really addresing the issue and feels a little dismisive since I did my due diligence before posting (check documentation/instructions, check for plugin conflicts, check the forum for similar threads, etc.).

I did follow the same steps in the video (which is basically one step if I don’t count installing the plugin) and the font still did not show on the editor, so I had to go with a different plugin since I couldn’t find any other suggestions or possible solutions from your replies on similar threads.

Great if it works on your end, but that doesn’t really solve my problem.

Perfectly put, @lamayas my experience exactly. I also tried downloading the google fonts I wanted then uploading them on this plugin but it didn’t integrate with the theme fonts I had set up, so after further fiddling with no joy, I gave up on this plugin and now use another (Useanyfont) which works perfectly so far.

    Hi @lamayas,

By saying what I said, I didn’t mean to leave you behind. I just would like to show you that it works on my end, which means the issue is site-specific. Although it happens also to other users, at least only a few of the users face this issue. Having said that, there must be something on your site that causes this. Another plugin, custom code, something on the hosting, etc.

Well, as I previously asked, could you please let us know the font you are using? Can it be downloaded freely?

I look forward to hearing from you.

@nickjamesillustrator, I am sorry that due to the problem you faced you had to switch the plugin. Anyway, as per the forum guidelines, please start your own topic and we’ll try our best to help you there. You are welcome to cross-link it to this thread, so we are aware of both.

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??

    Hi Herman,

I did mentioned that I was working on a newly installed WordPress with only Elementor and this plugin installed. No custom code, themes or anything else added at that point, and the font I tried is free to download on Google Fonts. Not sure how else to troubleshoot and you gave me no suggestions either.

You can go ahead and mark this as resolved since I don’t need help anymore, I went with a different option. Hopefully the support can be more helpful for the next person having the issue.

    Hi @lamayas,

I can reproduce this on my end. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we are sorry for the inconvenience you may have because of this. I will bring this to the team and we’ll see if we can manage our bandwidth to work on this.

By the way, I just wanted to mention to set the expectation properly. This plugin is completely free and open source. We initially created it for ourselves, but then we decided to share it so everyone can benefit from it.

If you happen to be a developer and would like to contribute to fixing the issue, we would love to have your contributions on GitHub. You can find the repository right here: https://github.com/brainstormforce/custom-fonts

However, don’t worry if you’re not a developer. We completely understand. We will take a look and work on it.

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??

    Hi @lamayas, @nickjamesillustrator,

I had feedback from our concerned dev team, and it turns out that this is actually the expected behavior instead of an issue. Here’s what I got from our dev team:

The reason the Google font isn’t appearing is because Astra already provides Google Fonts support. Since Elementor also offers the same functionality, there’s no need to duplicate the font name. It’s unnecessary to add it again. Therefore, the font isn’t showing, as we can simply select it from the available options – as shown here: https://bsf.d.pr/v/W3KGUD.

When you use the Google Font you added to your site using this plugin, when you inspect the code, you will notice the font is added to bcf-fonts folder inside the wp-content folder. Refer to this screenshot, please.

Well, I hope this clarifies clears any confusion you may have. And since this is not an issue, I am marking this thread as Resolved.

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??

    Hi Herman,

Not using Astra. Does it still apply?

    (@bsfherman)

    Hi @lamayas,

I am sorry, it seems I misunderstood what our dev team explained to me, hence the info I provided in my previous response is inaccurate.

The option to add Google Fonts directly from the plugin option is for FSE theme, not Classic theme like Astra. Even it’s not for Elementor. It will still fetch the font from Google server. You will get the same as I showed in the screenshot I shared previously if you enable the Preload Fonts option.

If you really want to host the Google Font locally from your site, you will need to manually download the font file from Google Fonts library then upload it to your site using this plugin. This will work with Elementor, even if you are not using Astra theme.

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??
