Google Friend Connect

Hello – one of my clients is trying to use the google friend connect app/widget on her www.ads-software.com site and it’s not working properly. she found out that apparently – if you are non-blogspot blogger you can’t use google friend connect. is that so? is there a workaround for this that anyone knows of? Apparently it hasn’t totally happened yet so if you’re on a wordpress site/blog that has the gfc widget you can still see the followers. she has over 600 followers – will she lose them all when google pulls the plug on other blogging platforms being able to use the widget? does anyone have experience with this? any info would be awesome!
