Google Gears local storage status error

I’m trying to enable Turbo mode on my WordPress blog, but I keep getting the following error message:
Local storage status: Error: Download of ‘https://kristenbyers.net/blog/wp-admin/gears-manifest.php’ failed, status code 500.
I have checked my permissions, tried disabling and reenabling gears but to no avail.
