Google help with new site

  • Hello there,

    I transferred all my archives from my WordPress.com site over to my new site. The problem is, in any searches that contain my site, the old site will feature high up on the google pages but the identical pages on the new site are miles further down. Any ideas why that might be?

  • Because it’s a new site.
    And your old site is still cached in google’s spiders.
    Give it a few weeks – your old site will drop off, and the new one will take it’s place.

    Meantime, put up a message on your old site directing users to the new site.

    But don’t fear – it will all sort itself out.
