Google is cropping pictures

When Google feature my most recent pages on the Recipe Search, it’s cropping the pictures I have on my recipes. This didn’t happen until 2-3 months ago, but now it happens most of the time.

I use picture with the size of 888 x 500, which would be exactly the 16:9 ratio they use on search for recipes. Before 2-3 months, they never cropped my pictures, but now they do and the final result is not the best (at least in my opinion).

For example, you can search for “milho refogado cozinha tecnica” to see what I mean. They show a cropped 16:9 picture of my 16:9 recipe picture.

Is there a way to “tell” Google to use my exact picture on WPRM?
